Privacy and Confidentiality Statement OUR Commitment to the Privacy of our Clients, Contractual Staff, Volunteers and Board of Directors.
Protecting the privacy of our clients, donors and other individuals about or from whom we collect personal information is extremely important to The Heart of Hastings Hospice.
The Heart of Hastings Hospice protects the privacy of your personal information and your business with us.
The Federal Government has now introduced a new legislation, The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. (PIPEDA) You, as an individual, have a right to know how we collect, use and disclose personal information. You have a right to expect that to the best of our ability your personal information held by us remains accurate confidential and secure. The Heart of Hastings Hospice collects personal information only with YOUR permission.
All staff, Volunteers and Members of the Board of Directors of this organization are committed to supporting our internal policy on Privacy and Confidentiality. We have measures in place to safeguard client files and electronic information.
We use your personal information exclusively in the course of administering care and support to you and your family, to process and receipt your donation and to send Quality Assurance questionnaires, to respond to any of your inquires, to keep you informed and up to date on the activities of The Heart of Hastings Hospice, also to inform you of volunteer opportunities. The Heart of Hastings Hospice does not sell, trade, or rent personal information to others at any time.
As part of ensuring the integrity of our privacy procedure and developing internal guidelines for protecting your personal information, we have appointed a Privacy Officer. Our board of Directors have approved the Donor Bill of Rights, and the Client Bill of Rights. The Heart of Hastings Hospice complies with these guidelines demonstrating our commitment to our donors and clients.
